Treatment plant for rinsing water containing mineral oil and heavy metals

Wastewater treatment plant Lugan® 3.000 treats rinsing water from train and carriage paintshop.

What did we do?

The Lugan® 3.000 wastewater treatment plant ensures compliance with local limit values so that the treated rinsing water can be discharged into the sewer system.

  • Task

    Task

Painting trains and carriages results in rinsing water contaminated with hydrocarbons.

A new rinsing water treatment plant intended as a replacement for an existing system, will treat the
wastewater to ensure reliable compliance with the limit values for hydrocarbons, zinc, copper and nickel. The treated rinsing water can then be fed into the public sewer system.

Compliance with the specified limit values is a prerequisite to holding an operating permit.

  • Solution

    Solution

The experts from EnviroChemie gave the customer in-depth advice before starting on the design of a suitable rinsing water treatment plant. Tests and analyses were conducted in the company’s own laboratories so that the system could be designed and planned to meet the requirements. The EnviroChemie experts also helped the customer with the permit planning process.

The Lugan® 3.000 rinsing water treatment plant with a throughput of max. 30 m³/d was the ideal solution for the required treatment capacity. The plant was built at the Rossdorf site, before being installed and commissioned by EnviroChemie fitters at the customer’s premises. Before this, the fitters dismantled the old plant and prepared the area for the new one.

The operator puts their trust in EnviroChemie’s wealth of experience to make sure the Lugan® 3.000 wastewater treatment plant runs smoothly. Regular inspections ensure that the plant always works as it should.

And if anything does go wrong, EnviroChemie's local service technicians are on site fast to restore normal plant operation.

If there are changes in the operation of the paintshop, EnviroChemie experts help to select or adapt the water treatment products and create new treatment concepts in consultation with the customer. EnviroChemie also supplies the high-performance water treatment products.

  • Benefits

    Benefits

The customer operates a rinsing water treatment plant that is eligible for authorisation according to the German ordinance on installations for the handling of substances hazardous to water (AwSV), the German Water Resources Act (WHG) and official regulations. The specified limit values for hydrocarbons, zinc, copper and nickel are adhered to at all times. The system also complies with the provisions of the customer’s in-house quality and environmental management framework. The new rinsing water treatment plant helps the company reduce disposal costs. Trained EnviroChemie service technicians conduct regular inspections and adjust the treatment process as needed. EnviroChemie water treatment
