In mid-July, 72-hour tests and commissioning of the newly built modular treatment plant for mining wastewater at the Ellatzite-Med mining complex were successfully completed.
The technology selected by EnviroChemie removes suspended solids and heavy metals sustainably and efficiently. The plant concept is based on mechanical and chemical treatment with four different precipitation reagents. The resulting sludge is fed into a combined final settling and thickening module. The solution developed also takes into account possible load peaks during heavy rainfall or when the snow melts.
The process combination developed by EnviroChemie includes:
✅ Envochem® chemical treatment and precipitation of heavy metals
✅ Envochem® heavy metal separation
✅ Envochem® combined sludge settling and thickening unit
The new treatment plant for mining wastewater ensures better protection of the water resources of the ‘Malak Iskar’ river. It is part of Ellatzite-Med's long-term strategy to achieve higher standards in environmental protection and responsible water management.
