21/04/2017 Wastewater Treatment Flotation Plant in High Demand Industrial and waste water treatment system supplier EnviroChemie GmbH saw record sales of its flotation plants in 2016. Sales of the largest series – the Flomar®, designed to treat up to 300 m3 of wastewater per hour – rose significantly again on the previous year. Flomar® plants, based on the principle of dissolved-air flotation, are mainly used in dairies, meat and fish processing, the oil and mining industries, and for the post treatment of activation plants. For applications requiring a capacity of 1–20 m3 of water per hour, the firm supplies compact flotation plants from the Lugan® series. EnviroChemie engineers are currently reviewing the portfolio to accommodate new application areas. Alongside its dissolved-air range, the company’s E-Flo Dr Baer series of electroflotation plants is proving highly successful. This series features electrodes powered by an electrical voltage, generating minute bubbles. The advantage of this process is that it produces less of the sludge typical of wastewater treatment, making electroflotation plants an appealing prospect for applications such as iron- and metalworking. “Flotation plants will continue to be an important part of our portfolio,” adds Dr Volker Oles, EnviroChemie’s Plant Engineering Manager.
